At a graduate industry student event UCGR got asked the question ‘How do I actually apply for a job?’ at least 15 times… now some of you may be wondering are you serious, for real?, but some of you will be nodding your head in agreement. UC Grad Recruiter is here to set the answer straight.

There are many ways to apply for graduate roles and with today’s connected world, we’re pretty sure you have everything you need at your fingers tips. So as students and upcoming graduates, seek out the answers you are looking for and avoid asking questions that you know you can easily find the answer to, this will save you a lot of time. We’ll let you ponder on the fact that if you want to know something, anything in fact, typically the first place you go is google- so why should your job search be any different?

Where to go in order to start a job application:

  1. A company’s careers page or corporate website should always be the first place to find a graduate job and start the application. For example if you want to apply for a graduate job at KPMG, BP or HSBC- then go directly to that companies website. This will give you the access to information about the company, graduate program and how to apply.
  2. If you want to see a selection of different graduate programs, then you should head to a website dedicated to graduate jobs. We have a compiled a list for you below:

It is worth noting, depending on your global location, some companies do accept applications via mail, fax or in person. If this is the case, you can find further job postings in newspapers or related publications.
